Recorded in March 1964,Ā Point of DepartureĀ expanded Hillās palette with a 6-piece ensemble of diverse players that included the remarkable frontline ofĀ Eric DolphyĀ on alto saxophone, bass clarinet, and flute,Ā Joe HendersonĀ on tenor saxophone, andĀ Kenny DorhamĀ on trumpet, along withĀ Richard DavisĀ on bass andĀ Tony WilliamsĀ on drums.
