The Story
On April 29 and May 7, 1968, iconoclastic saxophonistĀ Ornette ColemanĀ brought a dynamic quartet with tenor saxophonistĀ Dewey Redman, bassistĀ Jimmy Garrison, and drummerĀ Elvin JonesĀ into the studio to record what would yield his final two albums for Blue Note:Ā New York Is Now!Ā andĀ Love Call. The alchemy of this group, which combined Colemanās first-time two-saxophone pairing with a rhythm team deeply associated with John Coltrane, produced thrilling results.
UHQ-CDās reproduce the sound of original master tapes as faithfully as possible by utilizing new transfer technologies and improved materials to produce high-quality sound with a better representation of the whole stage. UHQ-CDs comply with CD standards and can be played on existing players. Each title is presented in a UHQ-CD jewel case with an obi-strip and the original sleeve notes reproduced on the back inlay.
